The ghosts of electricity
Fran Meana The ghosts of electricity
The ghosts of electricity works are made up of interventions using found images, letterpress techniques and offset ink. These are part of ‘Future Archaeologies’, a project that investigates the work of the Spanish architect and painter Vaquero Palacios, the author of the power stations of Salime (1954), Selviella (1958-1962) and Proaza (1964-1965).
Fran Meana (Avilés, ES, 1982) is an artist and educator based in London. His research-driven practice explores the narratives that entangle culture, industry and the natural world. The new body of work in ‘System Recovery’ is the result of recent research periods at Tabakalera (San Sebastián) and Laboral Centro de Arte (Gijón).
