Tableaux — a season of screenings and performances

Assembly Point is delighted to announce a season of events curated by invited artists and organisations. The programme features interactive screenings, performances and discussions focusing on artists’ moving image.

Tableaux consists of twelve events over three weeks with over one hundred contributors exploring various themes. Assembly Point has invited organisations and individuals to coordinate each event resulting in a diverse and exhilarating programme of moving image and performance.

Slow Bounce take both ping pong and dancing to their illogical conclusions, collating sounds and videos – found, commissioned and concocted.

Featuring: Anna Zett, Claire Tolan, Die Ashley, Encyclopedia Inc., Kimmo Modig and The Cuss Group.

Editorial platform AQNB considers the semiotic shifts that come with networked communication, and its influence on (global) community-building and identity-formation. The event will feature AQNB/Video in Common editorial commissions as well as screenings, conversations and performances.

Interactive Drawing Workshop

An artist led drawing workshop in Red, Yellow & Blue.

Responding to film clips, classic and contemporary, familiar and lesser known, the exercises will focus on colour, shape and movement to document film through drawing, with a primary palette.
Join us to draw colours in motion. All ages welcome and no experience necessary.

A screening of These Hammers Don’t Hurt Us by Michael Robinson (2010) followed by Le Moindre Geste by Fernand Deligny (1962/1971) PLUS intermission pan-­dimensional transport with Benedict Drew.

Featuring: Cecilia Bengolea and Jeremy Deller, Danielle Dean, Priscila Fernandes, Patrick Goddard, Paul Maheke, Alice Theobald and Anna Zett, .2Dot (Antonio Branco and Riccardo T), Emily Hawes, Rebecca Loweth, James Lowne, Richard Müller, Tassos Mesogitis, Jing Su.

The event is set to examine the notion of performativity in relation to identity and their production values through presentations by artists whose work explores fabricated subjectivity and claims new territories.

Synthetic Resonances will showcase a selection of moving image work (videos and GIFS) from artists that use digital tools in order to fabricate environments that can act as a rhizomatic structure of synthetic mediations in terms of ambience, materiality, construction.
